Welcome!

We are a reputable college, registered on the 15th September, 1995 and on 15th September, this year we celebrated our 10th anniversary. This means we have collected a lot of materials and accumulated so much experiences, achievements and accomplishments to the benefit of our students. Many graduates have secured important and responsible jobs in reputable tour companies in Arusha and all over Tanzania. The latest example is from a leading company, ConsCorp Africa from South Africa that did interviews a few weeks ago and among the 12 candidates it selected, 10 were from our school. And after the selection course 5 guides remained in the course and all were from PROTS. They will be employed next January, 2006. We consider that a rewarding achievement.

Projects:

Apart from the normal classes at the campus, we have been involved in several national and international training programs a few examples are like:

  • The Cultural Tourism Programme by The Netherlands Development Organization - SNV,
  • Training of Guides & Scouts in Amani Nature Reserve by FINNIDA;
  • Training of Scouts and Guides in West Kilimanjaro - a project by African Wildlife Foundation - AWF.
  • Training Tours & Mountain guides in the Bale Mountains in Ethiopia - a project by GTZ.

The latest is a few weeks ago when Prots's Principal did a training of mentors and guides in The Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park, Kwa Zulu Natal – South Africa. A World heritage Site.

Need General Identification Skills?
Come & Click IT at PROTS!

The efforts at PROTS has finally clicked the trick in General  Identification for Animals, Birds & Plants. Methods used to this remarkable success has been made possible through a PowerPoint programme where slide shows has enabled students to identify 200plus bird species in a remarkably short time.
It is targeted that by the end of the one year course a students can identify about 400 birds, 150 animals and at least 100 plants.
Animals too can be identified with much ease. The same approach is being developed for Plants identification and its like one of those “Success Guaranteed or Money back!”  advert stints. Works like a charm!
