Congratulations.
These students will get a briefing from Victor – the Tour Director for PROTS and they will start studying the program/itinerary and continue carrying out the preparations for that cultural, educational adventure with the Belgians.
They will also be in direct contact with Koen, the Tour Leader so as to work on how best to make it one of the best cultural exchange. At the end of the trip the Koen will make EVALUATIONS for each student.
We wish them the best learning experience.
Vedasto Izoba,
Principal.

12th May, 09. Koen send in his photos.

Students: Oh Kumbe! Ndo Huyu! (So, this is him!)
Guys, I present you Mr. Koen De Vos, the Belgian Tour Leader who is coming with a group of tourists to interact with PROTS Students. We quote him.
On his photos: I think it is good to know who you are talking to from now on.
Yes, mzee!
On our Blog: Nice Job!
On Program: I would love to get some answers of you (concerning the program and practical , concrete arrangements to be made) – and listen to your suggestions.
Typical Tourist! Just come and enjoy yourselves!

On Students: I am wondering whether we could work out a program in which your students are not limited to “serving or helping Belgian tourists”. I think it would be nice if your students could feel part of the group while guiding us. Do you understand what I want to say?
Yes. my Lord, I understand! You’re looking for trouble but Hakuna Matata! That can be arranged.

On Budget: I presume prices of meals and overnachting have not changed since the last trip or are there some important changes?
Now, you’re crazy! Prices in Tanzania are like the NY Stock Exchange! Usually you end up paying what you have. Isn’t that wonderful!
Karibu Sana!
Very recommended: Visit the Street Swahili Page before you board a plane.

Left: Bruno with a beer bottle given to him by the Go-Minus 26 (2004) group he interacted with. His great friend Dieter (right) looks on. The bottle has signatures from all the group participants! he treasures that very much!

Left: Bruno is now a manager with one of the leading tour company in Dar-es-Salaam. He has huge responsibilities and he attributes his success to the experience he got from the Go-Minus 26 and from the tourists who came back to Tanzania for the second time, like Dries (Below). Bruno is married!

The KOEN Group 2009!

The Great Cultural Adventure is in the offing! One can already smell it in the air, depending on the kind of a nose you have, of course. This time the Tour leader from Karavaan is Koen. We will be keeping you uptodate with the progress of this rare interaction between tourists from Belgium and PROTS students – one of its kind! New entries are entered on top.

Photos of the students and their tourists will be published soon. Also we will feature photos and captions from the previous groups!

Have a wonderful Summer!
