32. Tourism Training Goes to the Southern Highlands of Tanzania. By Vedasto Izoba.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism in collaboration with GOPA are currently carrying out seminars and short courses for in the Southern Highlands of Tanzania – Makambako, Njombe and Iringa.
The Principal of PROTS who is carrying out the training on Professional Tour Guiding has brought this short report for our Blog.
Finally, seriousness about shifting the burden of tourists from the Northern circuit to the Southrn Giants has been shown by the governement. This is through providing short courses on Hotel Managament like Customer care, Housekeeping, etc.
On Tour guiding the topics covered were Professionalism, Procedures, Presentation and Problem Solving. This approach will make the areas well known for their professional services and the tourists will flow southwards.
We congratulate our Government for this overdue move and encourage it to keep it up.
